Mi obra se gesta a partir de la indagación de mi condición como ser humano, atravesada por las inquietudes plásticas que me ayudan a materializarla. Efímera y frágil, intento evocar con ella un nuevo enfoque perceptivo de la vida contemporánea donde todo caduca con rapidez y donde la fugacidad es inminente. Busco reflexionar sobre aquello que nos afecta como sociedad y como individuos, reformulando nuevos interrogantes para así comprender nuestro presente. La vida contemporánea es un escenario complejo donde la inmediatez muchas veces nos paraliza. Somos resilientes por obligación. Nos rompen, nos rompemos y rompemos.
Recurro a la sutileza del papel -como soporte material fundamental de mis trabajos- para someterlo a la intervención de la máquina de coser, rupturas, costuras y construcciones, la cual con sus agujas y los hilos de distintos colores, construyen un universo de texturas contrastantes.
Palabras, silencios, fragilidades y roturas se entretejen en mis obras como grandes tapices de pensares y sentires.
Statement
My work is developed from the inquiry of my condition as a human being, which is crossed by the plastic inquisitiveness that help me to materialize it.
My work is ephemeral and fragile. I try to recall with it a new perceptive approach of the contemporary life where everything ends fast and where fugacity is imminent. I reflect on the issues that affect us as a society and as individuals, by reconsidering new questions to understand our present. Contemporary life is a complex scenario where immediacy often paralyzes us. We are resilient under obligation. They break us, we break ourselves and we break.
I resort to the subtlety of paper, as a fundamental support tool of my works, to subject it to the intervention of a sewing machine, ruptures, sewing and constructions. These items, together with needles and threads of different colors build a universe of contrasting textures.
Words, silences, fragilities and tears are woven into my works like great tapestries of thoughts and feelings.
